Revelation 1:1A
| Revelation of Jesus Christ
Revelation, apocalypse, means : unveiling. What was hidden, becomes visible. Jesus Christ is unveiled and made visible for everyone. That is what the last book in the Bible is about. It is over the return of Jesus Christ as Saviour, Judge and King. It is about the end of world history, of disasters and the judgments that will mark the last days of this period of history. A glance into the past , the present and the future. When will this happen? No one knows. Not even the angels, nor the Son, only the Father knows.(2) But it will happen and who knows how soon. This revelation, this unveiling, this reality becoming visible, is unique. No other religion recognizes the phenomenon of the prophetic the way the Bible knows it. The God of Israel does nothing without disclosing it first to his servants the prophets. (3) God says, ‘I have spoken I am bringing it about; I have drafted it and I will bring it to pass. (4) The Son, Jesus Christ is God’s first and last Word The Scriptures testify of Him. (5) And now the last Word about Him is being revealed through Him. 1. Daniel 2:28 Remarks: The book of Revelation does not contain the revelation of John. It is the revelation of Jesus to John. The revealing of His glory the way it was made known to John. |
