 In this edition:

Dear friends,

2015 is shaping up to be a tumultuous year in many respects. The vicious attacks on Jews in Paris and Copenhagen demonstrate that anti-Semitism is on the rise in Europe. Western nations are at a loss as to how to deal with the constant flow of Muslims to and from ISIS territories in the Middle East, and the rise of extremist Islam in their countries.

The elections in Israel promise to be a neck-to-neck race between Netanyahu's Likud and Zionist Union leader Isaac Herzog. The outcome will no doubt affect the Israel/Palestinian relations which have reach unprecedented levels of tension in recent weeks, but also will affect the resolution of rising social and economic tensions with Israel. Spurred on by the Israeli media, politicians from all sides are accusing each other of mismanagement and lack of vision.

More than ever, in this time of conflict and confusion, it is time to be praying for the state of Israel and the Jewish people, for their neighbours and enemies, for the leaders of all nations, and for the Peace of Jerusalem.

Wherever you are, you can make a difference. We encourage you to connect with the Global Prayer Call - you can take part in the 100 days of Prayer in your nation, and consider coming to Jerusalem for the GPC Conference 10-13 May 2015 (and associated tours). More information about these events below.

A Refugee's Story

Nataliya, our fieldworker in the Ukraine with whom I am in Kiev now, asked me to email the following to you. "We called for prayer for our work and the situation in the Ukraine - we know of the many Christians in many other countries that are praying for the Aliyah work and the Jewish refugees in the Ukraine. We see your prayers being answered and, in some instances, we see true wonders happening.”

Global Prayer Call - Sydney, January 24-25, 2015

The Global Prayer Call (GPC) initiative kicked off the International effort of 100 days of prayer for the people of Israel beginning at the commemoration of the liberation of Auschwitz/Birkenau Nazi death camp, and which will finish on the commemoration of the end of World War II. The co-ordination of the GPC in Australia was undertaken by Operation Exodus (a ministry of Ebenezer Emergency Fund International) based in Sydney and also with representatives of Christians For Israel Australia and a number of other independent individuals whose hearts are committed to Israel and the Jewish people. It was very pleasing to see a wide representation of many denominations who are committed to praying for Israel and the Jewish people.

“Je suis juif” - Editorial Israel & Christians Today

The past two months (December 2014 and January 2015) have witnessed a number of very different yet significant events affecting Israel and the Jewish people. The international version of the Israel & Christians Today newspaper of February 2015 has been released. The main purpose of Israel & Christians Today is to explore the relationship between the Church, the nations and Israel (the Jewish people) from a Biblical perspective. The newspaper takes the position that God is faithful to His promises and that the restoration of the nation of Israel in our generation is a sign of Hope for the Church of the Coming of the Lord. Bring the Jews Home Update from Ukraine

The exodus continues! The past year 2014 was a turbulent year in the Ukraine. The revolution in Kiev and other cities came first, and thereafter the annexation of the Crimea, by Russia. That was followed by what men thought impossible: war broke out in the eastern provinces of Donetsk and Lugansk. It resulted in the death of more than five thousand civilians, and caused a flow of refugees, amongst them hundreds of Jews!
