Introduction

C4I’s goal in Africa is to bring a new understanding amongst Christians in this continent that Israel is a sign of the (end) times pointing towards the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

In general, the churches in Africa lack serious Biblical teaching about God’s broader purposes in creation and redemption. We hope that our message will lead to prayer, active support and comfort for the Jewish people, as well as a deeper sense of the urgent need to be purified and sanctified, both in our personal lives and as the body of Christ, in preparation for the coming of Christ.

On the other hand, these are clear indications that the Lord is raising up a mighty army of Christians in Africa who are faithful and obedient to God’s word, and 100% dedicated to following Jesus.

We seek to place Israel within the context of God’s greater plan with all people and the whole creation. Israel is a sign: evidence of God’s faithfulness, that He is in control, pointing towards the coming Kingdom. Understanding this sign has practical consequences.

In 2008-9 we will focus on achieving the following strategic goals:

Training regional teams of key leaders
Our first goal is to identify and train a core team of key African Christian leaders who can build this ministry in their own language and culture. To this end, we will be developing 2 regional teams: West Africa (based in Cameroon, and serving Cameroon, Nigeria and neighbouring countries), and East Africa (based in Nairobi, and serving Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi, and Zambia).

Teaching
Teaching conferences will be organised in each region to teach a broader group of Church pastors and leaders.

Visits to Israel
These pastors and leaders will be invited to join teaching trips to Israel. In addition to visiting the main holy sites, these trips will focus on meeting a range of people in the land.

Media
In Africa the media is extremely important. Printed materials are expensive, and many people do not read. Visual material speaks more powerfully. Swahili is the main language for 200 million Africans, so we will need to develop materials in Swahili. This means we need to develop key multi-media materials that express our message in style and language appropriate for African audiences.

Building regional networks
We seek to be an ecumenical ministry, serving the existing Churches and Christian organisations. We will seek to build strong and close ties with the key Christian organisations, Churches and leaders in each country.

Prayer
From the very beginning all our activities and efforts in Africa must be grounded in prayer and intercession. This means establishing local prayer and intercession teams.

Fundraising
In each country we will endeavour to enter partnerships with churches to develop a support base within the country. Our goal is that within 2 years each country/region should be self-supporting.
