Corporate Responsibility and Human Rights Policy Statement

Christians for Israel International (C4I) — Corporate Responsibility and Human Rights Policy Statement

At Christians for Israel International (C4I), our mission is to bring biblical understanding to the Church concerning God’s purposes for Israel, and to provide comfort to Israel through prayer, faith-driven advocacy, and humanitarian action.

As a Netherlands-based and registered non-profit, we are committed to conducting our operations in accordance with international human rights law, humanitarian principles, and applicable Dutch and EU standards. This includes corporate responsibility, transparency, due diligence, and grievance mechanisms aligned with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct (“OECD Guidelines“), to the extent they are applicable to a faith-based charity like C4I.

We are committed to identifying and preventing any unintended adverse impacts on human rights.

  1. Faith-Based Advocacy and Human Rights

C4I affirms that religious belief, expression, and advocacy are fundamental freedoms protected under international human rights instruments, including the ICCPR and ECHR. Our perspective on Israel’s biblical heritage is grounded in these freedoms.

We acknowledge that faith-based positions may differ from certain legal interpretations, including those expressed in non-binding advisory opinions of the International Court of Justice. Nonetheless, our advocacy for Israel’s biblical connection to the land remains within the realm of protected belief and speech, as recognized under international human rights law.

  1. Humanitarian Assistance in Israel and the Territories of Judea and Samaria (also known as the West Bank) and the Golan Heights.

C4I’s humanitarian work is an extension of our faith, manifesting the biblical call to provide compassion and support to those in need. Our assistance—basically consisting of food, healthcare, essential services, and psychosocial support—is provided to Israeli Jews, Christians, Arabs, and Druzes alike, exclusively on humanitarian grounds and guided by the principles of:

    • Impartiality: Assistance is based solely on need, without discrimination;
    • Neutrality: Our operations worldwide and particular in Israel including Judea, Samaria and the Golan Heights provide aid solely on the basis of need, and we implement safeguards to ensure that no resources are directed, directly or indirectly, toward any group or entity engaged in violence or armed conflict. As recognized by international legal precedent, humanitarian relief — even in territories under disputed governance — does not constitute political endorsement or material support for such groups.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement

C4I recognizes the importance of open and ongoing dialogue with relevant stakeholders—including donors, partner organizations, aid recipients, regulatory bodies, and community representatives—to ensure that our human rights commitments are informed, context-sensitive, and responsive to evolving needs. We are dedicated to continual improvement and to ensuring that our humanitarian mission consistently respects the dignity and rights of all affected communities.

  1. Due Diligence and Compliance

C4I has implemented a human rights due diligence framework that includes:

  • Partner and Recipient Screening: We apply a protocol inspired by “Know Your Customer” (KYC) standards used in the corporate sector to vet all partners, donors, sponsors, and aid recipients. This ensures that our humanitarian support is directed to appropriate individuals and organizations, and used solely for non-political, non-violent, and humanitarian purposes.
  • Operational Review: Ongoing assessment of programs to ensure alignment with international legal standards.
  • Risk Mitigation: Internal procedures designed to prevent direct or indirect support of actions that may be deemed unlawful under international law.
  • Staff Training: Equipping staff and volunteers with the knowledge and tools needed to uphold these responsibilities in their work.
  • Land and Property Review: In areas where land ownership is contested, including Judea and Samaria, C4I conducts internal reviews of property deeds and titles to ensure that its humanitarian operations are not conducted on unlawfully acquired land. This process is guided by a standard we refer to as customary property law, reflecting the principle that land must not be expropriated from civilian populations in contravention of established ownership norms.
  • Environmental Stewardship: C4I is committed to preserving the environment and ensures that all its activities respect ecological standards and promote sustainable practices.

We are attentive to the legal sensitivities surrounding operations in Judea and Samaria and maintain enhanced internal safeguards to ensure our aid remains compliant with international humanitarian law.

  1. Financial and Regulatory Engagement

We actively engage with financial institutions and regulators to ensure that our operations as a faith-based humanitarian organization are conducted in a transparent and legally compliant manner. We expect fair and non-discriminatory treatment in accordance with Dutch, EU, and international legal standards.

  1. Transparency and Accountability

C4I is committed to transparency in its educational, spiritual, and humanitarian programs. We are establishing a grievance mechanism to allow concerns about our human rights impact to be raised and addressed. This aligns with the OECD Guidelines and reflects our dedication to continuous improvement. The grievance mechanism is presented as a separate section adjacent to this statement, for ease of access and clarity.

Through unwavering commitment to biblical teaching, humanitarian integrity, and legal responsibility, Christians for Israel strives to bring comfort to Israel in a manner that honors both faith and human dignity.

Christians for Israel (C4I) is committed to respecting human rights and addressing any concerns related to our operations.
