13,000 Food Parcels Needed. Critical Situation in Ukraine Remains High.
Ukraine is shelled daily by Russian drones. Cities are heavily affected. That is why we organize a special emergency action in Ukraine in the forthcoming period.
Winter is over now and Spring is in full swing in the country. Brown-outs are rare fortunately. A couple of weeks ago high-level talks took place between Russia and the United States of America about a ceasefire in Ukraine. Many people thought that finally peace would dawn thanks to President Trump. That hopeful thought has given way to harsh reality. The number of missiles and drones has increased everywhere.
Plenty of terrible news reached us from the heavily affected cities, amongst others Odesa, Kharkiv and Kyiv. At the end of April we were in Odessa when the city was heavily shelled. Then, one can only take shelter and pray for protection. Two days later a full lorry with food parcels arrived that could be unloaded without a hitch. Still it remains Russian roulette, one can never tell where and when the drones and missiles will land.
Many requests for help continue to reach us. That is why we organize a special emergency action for food help in Ukraine. In the coming period we hope to pack 13,000 emergency food parcels (over 130,000 kg) and distribute them amongst Jewish elderly, poor, refugees, Holocaust survivors and women and children whose husbands and fathers are fighting at the front. In the mean time we have been able to deliver the first food! Everybody who receives one or more food parcels, signs for delivery.
The food parcels may look like a drop in the ocean, but for those who receive the food parcels it means a world of difference.
Will you help?
The cost of one food parcel is 15 euros or 15 US $. For this amount we buy wholesale products. The parcels are packed by volunteers and distributed throughout Ukraine. Will you help with one or more food parcels? Your support is desperately needed!
