Journal Israel and the Church: ’Why should we stand with Israel?’

The theme of this edition is ’Why should we stand with Israel?’  For Christians, obviously, God’s enduring covenant with the People of Israel, which includes the Land of Israel, should prompt a relation with the People and the Land of Israel. Does that also pertain to the State of Israel? If we see the establishment of the state as a modern expression of the bond between people and land, and if we see the return of the Jews to their ancient homeland as a sign of God’s faithfulness, it does. In this edition, we will explore non-Western and Western perspectives on Israel as a prime example of an indigenous nation and a successful modern state.
