Bringing Hope to Families and Children

The summer months provide valuable opportunities for ministry and outreach. Through the faithful work of Rev Naim Khoury and his church in Bethlehem and Rev Saleem Shalash and his church in Nazareth we spread light to children, families, and vulnerable people. Below are updates from both pastors on how God is working through their churches and how your support is helping make a difference.

Rev Naim & Elvira Khoury – Hope and Joy for Children in Bethlehem
We thank the Lord for His faithfulness and for your continued friendship and partnership as we do the work of the Lord in this critical time. Your prayers and generous support enable us to continue serving children and families, and we are grateful for the difference you are making.
This summer, more than 170 children took part in our annual Summer Programme. For many of them, these eight days became one of the highlights of their year. The excitement of the children was evident from the very beginning. Many eagerly waited for the church vans to arrive each morning. Some even called ahead asking when transportation would come, anxious not to miss a moment of the programme. Their enthusiasm was a great encouragement to our team.
Providing transportation for so many children remains a significant challenge. Rising fuel costs have increased expenses considerably, and transporting children from different communities requires a great deal of planning and time. Yet we are committed to ensuring that every child who wishes to attend has the opportunity to be part of the programme.

Each day was packed with activities designed to help children grow in their faith while enjoying a memorable summer experience. Through Bible lessons, Scripture memorisation, songs, games, crafts, and sketches, they encountered biblical truths in engaging and practical ways.
The Bible stories formed the heart of each day. Children listened attentively, memorised verses, asked thoughtful questions, and learned how God’s Word applies to their lives. They sang Christian songs enthusiastically and enjoyed creative activities that reinforced the lessons they were learning.
“Their parents’ testimonies remind us that God’s Word continues to transform hearts”
One of the greatest blessings came through the feedback we received from parents. Many shared that their children had begun praying regularly at home. Some started praying before meals for the first time, while others prayed before bedtime and remembered family members and friends in their prayers. Parents also noticed changes in their children’s behaviour. Some children confessed wrongdoing and asked forgiveness.
These testimonies remind us that God’s Word continues to transform hearts. While the fun activities and outings are important, our greatest joy is seeing children grow spiritually and bring what they have learned back into their homes.
As we reflect on this year’s programme, we give glory to God for every child who attended, every Bible verse learned, every prayer offered, and every seed planted in a young heart.
Thank you for helping make this ministry possible through your prayers and support.
Rev Saleem Shalash – A Place of Hope in Northern Israel
God is opening new doors for outreach in northern Israel. Over the past years, we have met many people carrying heavy burdens. Some families are facing financial hardship. Others are rebuilding their lives after war trauma, or loneliness. Others simply need someone who will listen, pray with them, and remind them that they are not forgotten.

This is why the development of a new humanitarian centre in Nof HaGalil is so important to us. For many years, this project has been a prayer in our hearts. Our vision has never been merely to establish another building. Rather, we have longed to create a place where people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.
The centre will provide practical assistance, encouragement, and support to people facing a variety of challenges. A place where Jewish and Arab families alike can come and experience practical help, encouragement, and genuine human connection.
Thank you for continuing to stand with us through your prayers and support. Your partnership is helping us continue being a light to many people during difficult times.
Pray for the work of Rev Khoury and Rev Shalash and their families. Pray for strength, wisdom, protection and fresh encouragement as they continue serving faithfully.
