There are many different reasons to pray for Israel, but a very important one is that it is something that God Himself asks of us. God wants us to pray to Him to ground Jerusalem and to make her the praise of the earth. For many nations Jerusalem is no praise of the earth at all nowadays, but rather a bone of contention. The United Nations for example, rejects the Jewish character of Jerusalem time after time. As Christians we are called to oppose that and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

It is good to know that this prayer calendar is used worldwide. Together we seek the face of the Lord.
