References to the New Testament | In the Footsteps of Abraham with Johannes Gerloff #48

To many Christians the so-called “Old Testament” is strange. However, what we call “Old Testament”, to Jesus and his followers was “Mose, the Prophets and the Writings” or simply “the Scriptures”. Jewish people call it the “Tenakh”. Chapter 22 in the book of Genesis is an excellent example, how the “New Testament” is based on the the “Tenakh”. Learning the “Tenakh” is, what all New Testament believers did in the beginning. The NT takes its motifs, its way of thinking, its perspective and hope from “the Scriptures”.
